Real Estate

Overview

Papatriantafyllou & Thanasenari advises and represents Greek and international investors, businesses and private clients on real estate transactions and disputes in Greece. Based in Athens, we act on the acquisition, development, financing, leasing and sale of residential and commercial property, and represent clients before the Greek courts in property-related disputes.

Property transactions in Greece require careful review of ownership titles, registered encumbrances and the legal status of the property. Our experience in property disputes helps us identify potential risks and address them through due diligence and the terms of the transaction.

Real Estate Transactions

We advise on the full life cycle of a property, from initial acquisition through construction, financing and leasing to its eventual sale. Our work includes legal due diligence, the review of ownership titles, land registry and cadastral records, and the negotiation and drafting of transaction documents.

For international clients, whether based in Greece or abroad, we explain the steps involved in buying or selling property in Greece and liaise with the notaries, engineers and other professionals involved. Where a purchase is linked to a Golden Visa application, we also advise on residence permit requirements and the application process.

Real Estate Disputes

We represent clients in disputes arising from the acquisition and disposal of all types of property, as well as from financing arrangements and leases. Our work covers claims concerning ownership, contractual breaches, and commercial and residential leases.

We assess the evidence, the available legal options and the practical implications of each dispute. We advise on negotiation and settlement and represent clients in court, with a strategy shaped by the rights at stake and each client’s objectives.
